Winemaker Series is more than a range of experimental, small batch luxury wines ($45-90 USD) — it’s an invitation to enter the minds of The Prisoner’s winemakers. This this series permits the winemakers ultimate freedom to express themselves creatively with new varietals and techniques. A rare and exclusive glimpse into what makes one of the world’s most intriguing luxury wine brands tick.
Specialist drinks branding agency Co-Partnership was briefed to create a packaging system for Winemaker Series that reflects the winemakers’ creative expression, adapts to each wine varietal, and showcases The Prisoner's deep roots in the world of fine art.
There’s art and psychology in a winemaker’s creative craft – unique expressions of the grape reflect who they are and their perspective – so Co-Partnership designed labels as works of art capturing The Prisoner winemakers’ inner minds. The agency partnered with artist Nathan Johnson on a Jackson Pollock-inspired drip painting to capture their creative passion. Gold foil detailing and high-build gloss bring depth, dynamism, and luxury to the work. Varied Rorschach-style inkblots on each label symbolise the unique psychological imprint of the winemakers on the wine within and differentiates varietals in the series.
“ How do you visualise an abstract concept like a winemaker's creative process? This design brings the idea to life with artistic richness and luxurious desirability. ” Bukky Ekundayo, General Manager & VP, The Prisoner Wine Company
