Kintal Creative Studio creates a brand identity for the Berlin-based coffee brand, Kape de Filipina.
The German coffee brand Kape de Filipina is an initiative to build awareness of the Philippines as a major force in the coffee industry. Crafted to capture coffee lovers, the brand aims to deliver unique and rich flavours while sharing the rich diversity of Philippine coffee.
Kintal Creative Studio, a branding and design agency, was tasked with communicating a brand identity that portrays the richness of the product, Filipino culture, and community, with a familiar warmth that can be understood by non-Filipinos.
The visual identity of the packaging is inspired by the local indigenous Filipino weavers, communicated through Filipino-inspired iconography and illustrations. Geometric patterns adorn the packaging with coffee beans woven throughout representing coffee variants, such as Yakan weave for Mount Apo Arabica, T’nalak for Mount Matutum Arabica, Kinan-ew for Sagada Arabica, and Ibaloi for Atok, Sayet, and Ampucao Arabica, as well as the Barako variety displaying elements drawn from the Philippine flag.
The overall visual identity of the packaging showcases a Philippines-inspired brand identity, delivering an inviting, authentic, and premium brand for foreign consumers.
