Panther’s Eye Roasting Company chooses a trendy brand name and a 90s-inspired visual identity
Crafted to emulate jolts of alertness fueled by caffeine, Panther’s Eye Roasting Company chooses the acronym "PERC" for their coffee brand with the homophone "perk" in association with "percolator," a popular brewing method.
The visual identity is vibrant, bold in colour and boats a 90s art design inspiration. To maintain "cool vibes," the designers, Brad Praria and Philip Brown, chose clarity and simplicity. Each variant is identified through a colour scheme system, with each colour, with each colour depicting different levels of intensity: wild, balanced, and mild.
The logo is displayed in a large 3D "PERC," surrounded by roasted coffee beans and lighting bolt patterns adorning the side of the pack with transparent packaging and copy on the sides of the pack reading "Stay Wild!, Get Mild!, and Be Balanced." The overall branding draws inspiration from 90s art but remains vibrant and dynamic at the same time.
