Andrea Castelletti Studio recreate the historical underground maze Grotte di Santità for their intricate layered label design.
Grotte di Santità is a high-quality organic sparkling wine, named after the maze of prehistoric tunnels that runs through the town of Ripatransone where the wine producers Cantina dei Colli Ripani is located. The underground structure extends for about 2000sqm under the urban soil that holds winding paths, tales, and legends. As a historical edifice built by ancestors of the town, the maze reflects the complex traditional methods used to make the wine. Each bottle is unique, with individual numbers and an immersive experience of the local history in every glass.
To reflect the depth of the caves and tunnels that make up the Grotte di Santità, Andrea Castelletti Studio used three overlaid materials subsequently die-cut. Printed on Fedrigoni Materica Kraft Ultra WS and Bereber Sand Ultra WS, both natural self-adhesive FSC certified papers, the label possesses a muted, earthy colour palette that evokes the rich sandy tones on the tunnels, while the first substrate material is a clear gloss for a premium finish.
