With the aim to target a younger audience that is more focused on their cities, Johnnie Walker launches their latest Keep Walking City Collection featuring a packaging design inspired by big cities worldwide. The particularly inventive element is the use of Air Ink made by Graviky Labs which is used to illustrate art on the signature Johnnie Walker bottles.
Johnnie Walker and Bulletproof collectively craft a packaging design that appeals to Gen Z. The theme focuses on creative visuals of cities such as Warsaw, Bangkok, and Madrid, and collections displaying Delhi and Istanbul will be released shortly. The signature-style bottle is wrapped with a white label that acts as a canvas, displaying a monochromatic visual using air ink to illustrate the city-inspired graphics.
Taking sustainability and innovation in packaging design to a new level, the ink used is created from air pollution using a device called Kaalink where the word ‘kaal’ refers to ‘black’ in Hindi.
The illustration on the bottle displays works by famous artists to bring the elements of the city to life. Alek Morawski celebrates Warsaw landmarks for the Keep Walking City Series, while artist Okunda San Miguel displays culture and nature spilling onto the streets of Madrid. Meanwhile, Gongkan's representation of Bangkok honours the city's youth. Shilo Shive Suleman from Delhi and Mr. Hure's bottle from Istanbul will be among the next cities and artist collaborations.
