Magpie Studio delivers a complete branding suit and packaging design for new plant-based haircare range Khali Min.

Formulated in the UK using methods and ingredients originating from the founders’ Egyptian heritage, Khali Min, meaning ‘free from’, is a clean and consciously led brand producing vegan, performance-driven products that address hair based on need, not by ‘type’.

Tasked with developing a visual identity that balances the brand’s Egyptian heritage with a contemporary aesthetic to appeal to an eco-conscious audience, Magpie Studio created a pattern directly inspired by traditional Arabesque art. The geometric design starts as a well-structured form but eventually falls into individual strands, evoking the image of newly tamed hair.

The Logo echoes a traditional Arabic calligraphy style, and a warm, minimal colour palette brings a modern appeal as well as reflecting the purity of the raw ingredients.

The narrative reoccurs throughout the branding and advertisement with playful phrases like 'raised in the warm desert winds of Egypt, we know a thing or two about haircare' and 'freedom for your spirit, not just your hair'.
