PERC's mission is to share good times and great coffee with everyone they meet, from the craft coffee curious to the craft coffee experts. This is what In-House Graphic Designer Brad Praria (aka. Braddy the Baddy) and owner Philip Brown accomplished with their Limited Release package design's exciting and approachable look.
PERC's traditional bagging system is rooted in vibrant colours and nostalgic designs. They separate their bags into three distinct designs that represent different vibes: blue bags for "Mild" coffees, yellow bags for "Balanced" coffees, and pink bags for "Wild" coffees. Limited-release coffees posed a challenge as they live outside the three-vibe system. The design of the Limited-release packaging needed to crank it up to eleven to match the awesomeness of the coffee inside.
The Limited Release is a matte black box with the PERC logo and bean bolts in rainbow holographic foil on the front. Every box features a unique, colourful label with the farm's name, origin, flavour descriptors, processing, and the “Totally Awesome” tongue vibe icon at the top. The sides are illustrated with each vibe mascot: the wild panther, the balanced peach, and the mild octopus stacked on top of each other inside a giant radiant mouth. Opening the box reveals a tongue illustration wrapping around the bright pink interior. The bag it holds is a translucent rainbow holographic material, allowing you to see the beautiful beans inside.
Overall, the PERC Limited Release packaging is colourful and bold. It communicates the coffee's outstanding quality and invites folks to come to be coffee badasses with them. The compelling design makes you want to tear open the box and chug the tasty coffee inside.
