Stefan Sagmeister is one of the keynote speakers who will be presenting at the Pentawards Festival, themed ‘Design with Purpose’ with other key topics such as AI, Accessibility and Inclusivity in Design, Sustainability and more.
About Stefan Sagmeister
A two-time GRAMMYs winner, he has designed for the likes of the Rolling Stones, HBO, and the Guggenheim Museum.
Receiving his MFA from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and, a master’s degree from Pratt Institute in New York, Stefan Sagmeister began his career in design. From Austria, Hong Kong, and Rome to New York City, Sagmeister made a name for himself where he was known for his rebellious yet contemporary work.
Rolling Stones, Bridges To Babylon
His keen interest in music got him working on album covers for likes of Zinker’s Mountains of Madness which earned him four Grammy nominations for his cover for Innovation and Rarity. Followed by designing Lou Reed’s album cover, Set the Twilight Reeling, and David Byrne’s album Feelings featuring the GI Joe-style doll.

His exhibit ’The Happy Show' attracted over half a million visitors worldwide and became the most visited graphic design show in history.
Being one of the three most frequent speakers at TED Talks, he talks about the large subjects of life like happiness or beauty, how they connect to design and what that actually means to people's everyday lives.
