As part of a strategic overhaul, Asda has given a fresh perspective to its own-brand pet food lines, Hero for Dogs and Tiger for Cats, with the assistance of the branding and design expertise of Stormbrands. With its success in the pet sector, Asda aimed to revamp its pet food offerings. Aligning with Asda's broader mission of ‘Providing brighter living within everyone's reach’, the rebranding exercise sought to tap into the evolving consumer sentiment from pet 'ownership' to a more familial sense of 'parenthood.'
Stormbrands took a creative approach, recognizing the profound emotional connection between pet owners and their animals, especially during pivotal moments like feeding time. To amplify this connection, the rebrand focused on visually striking and playful photography that puts the anticipation of mealtime at the forefront of the brand. The imagery, coupled with a soft and friendly design, aims to subtly tug at the heartstrings of consumers, even if they don't immediately recognize the emotional depth. The updated brand colours, designed to resonate with a younger demographic, along with a reassuring tone of voice, further solidify the intimate bond between pet parents and their furry companions.
The rebranding effort extends beyond aesthetics, aiming to alter customer perceptions of Asda's own-brand pet food, positioning it as a credible and nutritious alternative to branded competitors.
