For 2025, the Pantone Color Institute selects PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a warming, brown hue imbued with richness.

Each year, experts at the Pantone Colour Institute™ delve into global trends across entertainment, fashion, travel, and social and cultural events, drawing inspiration from both natural and virtual worlds that shape our daily lives. The Pantone Colour of the Year, chosen through extensive global research and analysis, reflects how our global culture is expressed and communicated through the language of colour.

For 2025, the Pantone Colour Institute™ has selected PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a warm and inviting brown hue rich in sophistication. Inspired by the comforting qualities of chocolate and coffee, this shade reflects our collective desire for simple pleasures and a sense of indulgence.

Mocha Mousse: Simple, Comforting, and Versatile

With its earthy elegance, Mocha Mousse serves as both a statement colour and a versatile base. It enhances minimalist designs and complements intricate patterns, making it ideal for various industries. To showcase its potential, Pantone has crafted five unique palettes, each with downloadable harmonies available via Pantone Connect.

Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute , describes it as " a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial warmth speak to our need for comfort and our appreciation for the simple joys we can share with others."

" Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe ." PANTONE x Pentawards

Back in 2023, we were honoured to join forces with Pantone to recognise excellence in packaging design through the 'Best Use of Colour' Award as part of the 2023 competition. The ‘Best Use of Colour’ Award winners were revealed by Carola Seybold, Head of Global Key Accounts, at the Pentawards Gala Ceremony.

Carola also delivered a keynote at the 2023 Pentawards Festival, exploring the relationship of colour between virtual words and reality.
