Chanel have released a new line of anti-ageing beauty products specifically designed to reduce their impact on the environment and inspire a new generation of beauty.

Following the release of Eau de Chanel featuring a 91% bio-based cap, Chanel have released a new line of beauty products that aim to fight the signs of ageing while reducing their environmental impact. The new N°1 DE CHANEL range consists of serums, moisturizers, cleansers, makeup, and lotions all of which have been formulated with up to 97% naturally derived ingredients, 76% of which are camellia-derived ingredients.

Chanel’s drive for sustainability continues throughout the N°1 DE CHANEL packaging design, with some big adjustments to their usual unboxing experience. Completely doing away with any excess wrapping, the packaging is free of cellophane and contains no paper leaflets. Instead, QR codes are printed directly onto the packaging, allowing consumers to access information digitally.

The glass containers are made using lighter recyclable glass, meaning the amount of glass material used has been reduced by a third to half. The cream lids are made using 90% bio-based materials, 10% of which are products derived from camellias. Furthermore, organic inks made from organic molecules that require less heat and therefore less energy are used for all external printing.
