Back Pentawards reveals Top 10 Student League Table

Pentawards, the world’s most prestigious packaging design competition, is thrilled to reveal a Top 10 Student League Table of universities and colleges that have accumulated the most Pentawards points between 2007-2019.

It showcases where the top global talent in packaging design is coming from, and follows on from the recent release of our professional Top 20 All-Time Winners Table , featuring design agencies, brands, freelancers, universities, packaging suppliers and manufacturers.

Congratulations to the number one spot holder, the British Higher School of Art & Design in Russia, who have won 20 Pentawards over the years.

Leonid Slavin, curator and tutor at the Moscow based school shared his thoughts on taking first place:

For 8 years, my students have been participating and winning the Pentawards contest. I am extremely grateful to the Pentawards for the moments of excitement before announcing the results and pride and happiness after the ceremony, and I am extremely happy that we became No.13 in all-time winners list and No.1 in the student league. Katya, Pavla, Anna, Valeria, Stas and other brilliant graduates, thank you for continuing to do great projects and to win now in professional nomination !”

Adam Ryan, Head of Pentawards, said:

This is a great opportunity to showcase emerging talent within the packaging design industry from colleges and university across the world. A massive congratulations to Leonid and his students for claiming the number one spot! For those of you hoping to be featured in our updated league tables later this year, make sure you submit your work before this year’s deadline, Friday 3 April .”

What’s the methodology for ranking?

The Pentawards student league table ranks winners based on the awards they have won during the Pentawards competition between 2007 – 2019. Winners are sorted based on the number of Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver & Bronze Pentawards won, the total score is then based on the scoring below.

NXT-GEN: 4 Points | Gold: 3 Points | Silver: 2 Points | Bronze: 1 Point

The NXT-GEN Award provides a platform for the next generation of packaging design talent to showcase its skills on an international stage and to the biggest influencers in the design business. It also underlines the Pentawards’ commitment to champion the best new entrants to the global packaging design industry and their work, and promote careers in the sector to future generations of students.

Entries for our 2020 competition close Friday 3 April at 11.59pm GMT. For information on this year’s categories and how to enter, see here .
