Studio Unbound creates an evocative bottle design for new organic milk farm, Brooklands Dairy.
Brooklands Dairy is a farm on a mission to transform the dairy industry. Their biodynamic practices mean no pesticides are used in their fields, creating a better and more natural environment for the diverse wildlife that grows there. This also means there is an abundance of clovers across the field which circulate valuable nitrogen into the soil and provide vital proteins for the cows, giving them the raw nutrition needed to produce great tasting, organic milk.
The clover, therefore, became the hero of Studio Unbound’s brand and packaging design. With the dairy farm reverting to more natural methods, Studio Unbound returns to the glass refillable bottle like those you would have found once delivered to your doorstep. The organic pasteurised milk is dispensed into the refillable bottle by a vending machine on the farm, inviting consumers to stop by and indulge in other dairy products made on site, as well as creating a space to educate children and adults of the importance of where and how their food is produced.
The glass bottles are adorned with a minimal design consisting of the all-important green clovers and the brand logo. These and various other marketing illustrations and motifs are produced used a rustic, hand-drawn style echoing Brooklands Dairy’s natural practices. The logo also evokes the image of hand-painted signs found around rural villages or on traditional, family-run farms, deliberately veering away from the clean-cut, mass-produced style.
Studio Unbound sets out to support and communicate the brand ethos as well, producing an appealing design that evokes a sense of nostalgia and familiarity while still maintaining a contemporary feel.
