Angelini Design delivers a modern beer label for Grain specialist Molino Casillo’s introduction to the craft beer market.
After Molino Casillo’s long history of production, processing and marketing of wheat and grains, the Italian grain specialists have released their first range of craft beers. Utilising a strictly artisanal production process and harnessing their experience in treating this cereal, the Molina craft beer contains all the aromas and flavours of durum wheat, the main cereal of Puglia.
The Molina craft beer range comprises of three variations – the durum wheat blonde, the organic ‘Bio Bionda’ American Pale Ale known as "A toast to Senator Cappelli", and the Ambrata American IPA with sea water.
To honour the ingredient synonymous with the brand’s success, design agency Angelini Design uses the wheat grain as the core stimulus for the label design. A minimal, clean layout consisting of brand logo and range description also includes a repeated pattern that echoes an ear of wheat. Its minimal layout uses the iconic staggered formation of the wheat stem. Strips of the grain pattern are coloured based on content flavour to indicate variation.
A simple capitalised font in bold white is used for the brand name and label description which, although minimal, stands out against the brown base of the bottle’s natural colour. Angelini Design’s simple layout is fresh and contemporary, intended as a strong contender in the craft beer market.
