To mark Pisco distillers Bou Baroeta’s 100th anniversary, JVD ESTUDIO develop a unique special-edition packaging that truly embodies the brand and the country from which the Pisco is made.

To commemorate their 100th anniversary, artisanal pisco distillers Bou Baroeta release a special edition run of their 21-year Gran DOX pisco. The Denomination of Origin DOX Pisco, made in Atacama, was the first of the family-run business’s products when they started in 1922. Produced using an artisanal process with regional ingredients and locally sourced copper stills DOX Pisco if a true Pisco de Atacama.

The special edition bottle, label and packaging design by JVD ESTUDIO, sets out to embody the company history as well as the uniquely Chilean materials specifically required to make this DOX Pisco. On the front label, made using textured paper, is an imprint that represents the north of Chile. The hints of gold foil on the textured paper reflect the natural and mineral resources of the land.

Wrapped around the bottle is a copper-like band that suggest the horns of an ox. This unique detail makes reference to the brand logo as well as reflects the Chilean copper that makes the stills in which the Pisco is produced. A heart pendant on the back connotes Bou Barroeta's family history and the nobility of each of his creations.

The stopper symbolizes the harmony between heaven and earth coexisting in a perfect balance, with the stars that revolve around them represented by a copper thread wrapped around the middle.

The bottle is enclosed within an outer box that completes the special edition packaging. Layered textures and colours refer to the evolution of copper and its different states, acting as a prologue to the drink within and providing a luxury unboxing experience.

The overall effect provides a sensory journey, introducing the consumer to everything that makes Gran Dox Pisco, from the land to the Pisco taste itself. Consisting of a mere 300 units, the special edition series will be made publicly available in February 2022.
