Spanish specialists in wine design Sidecar created an outstanding packaging design for Lolita Extra Virgin Oil, a product of the past and present.
The product, Lolita, is known for its fruity intensity and young flavours, and thus, the packaging design captures the same essence. The packaging was inspired by the novel Lolita by the Russian novelist, Vladimir Nabokov. The excerpt from the novel printed on the bottle is the true essence of the product as depicted using literature.
Lolita has chosen a packaging design that brings out the essence of the product with a metaphorical reference to the smell of freshly cut grass, an unforgettable kiss, the temptation and pleasure of its taste, and an expression of love. Sidecar delivered just that, with olive-inspired colours and a simple yet sensual font.
Truly simplistic in iconography, a minimalist inverted heart captures the attention of the viewers. Printed below the inverted heart is the brand name, Lolita. The association between the two, the icon and the product name, brings out the connection with the novel, a piece that is both loved and restricted.
