Maubau Studio’s unique Gin label and bottle design that speaks of the history and philosophy of Domaine Gélinas distillery.

Domaine Gélinas are an artisanal distillery and vineyard that pride themselves on their family principles and attention to detail. Founded by father and son, their philosophy is to connect with nature and the people they meet and work with. They strive to create quality products by fully understanding how and promoting a personalised approach, extending the family history and connection to customers and employees alike.

With that in mind Maubau Studio’s label and bottle design for Domaine Gélinas Gin sets out to communicate this sense of history and familiarity. The choice of bottle shape and type system veers away from traditional Gin bottles, rather evoking an ancient pharmaceutical vessel in which compound medicines are mixed, alluding to the distilling process and delicate balance of ingredients. The use of muted colours extends this sense of age while also offering an appealing, modern aesthetic.

The wooden cap suggests the family land from which the gin is made and the fauna that inhabits it featuring gentle embossing that echoes attention to detail. The overall design acts as a narrative object offering a glimpse into the world and history of Domaine Gélinas.
