Hanna Kops, Head of Experience at Transport for London will be a Keynote Speaker at the Pentawards Festival, taking place on 9th November at the Science Museum, London

As part of the 2023 Festival, Head of Experience at Transport for London and Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art, Hanna Kops has been announced as one of the keynote speakers. This year, festival speakers will discuss the theme of 'Design with Purpose', exploring key topics such as AI, Accessibility and Inclusivity, Sustainability, and more.

About Hanna Kops

Hanna's work ranges from strategy and leadership to innovation and design. Her team are behind the design of TfL's award-winning TfL Go app, which includes an innovative new approach to digital maps.

Before joining Transport for London, she led design teams, innovation projects, wide-ranging culture change programmes and co-founded a design studio working with organisations in retail, culture/arts, healthcare and education in the UK and USA, including Transport for London, O2, Orange, NHS, The Department of Health, BBC and as a former resident of New York City, WebMD and The Rhode Island Department of Education.

TfL Go App

Launching a new app, the TfL Go is the 21st-century evolution of the paper pocket Tube map, nearly 90 years after Harry Beck’s original iconic design was first used by people travelling in London. The digital version of the Tube map has existed for many years however, the new approach driven by Hanna opens up many new possibilities for improving real-time information.

The standout element of this project is the integration of information into the map and throughout the rest of the app – such as a ‘step-free mode’ at the tap of a button. For those with mobility impairments, or travelling with a pushchair or heavy luggage, the app will display more useful information.

Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art

The opening seminar marked the 10th anniversary of the Service Design course at the Royal College of Arts London and the launch of the 2022 year's theme RESET, which critically and thoughtfully explored new ways of being and existing in the world in an opening discussion with Hanna Kops, Head of Experience at Transport for London. The event critically explored how service designers can navigate complex problems.
