Akamasoa by Las Quinas | Strawberry Marmalade

Rebuilding dignity and reducing inequality, one jar at a time. Akamasoa strawberry marmalade is the fruit of a community's labor. Temperance, Hope, Freedom and Dignity - these virtues take on profound meaning when embraced as home names by people rising above extreme vulnerability. Temperance: To confront challenges with determined resilience. Hope: To keep the faith in a better future alive. Freedom: To forge self-written destinies. Dignity: Where the quintessential human spirit resides. In Madagascar, Father Pedro Opeka's Akamasoa ("Good Friends") initiative has empowered marginalized families to build their own homes, schools and agricultural enterprises. This transformative project has lifted thousands out of generational poverty, restoring hope and self-reliance. Inspired by Akamasoa's impact, Gastón Vigo brought this uplifting model to Argentina. Here too, community members construct their own homes, study, and cultivate strawberries for commercializing value-added products like marmalades. Our goal was to create an elegant, intriguing icon embodying the empowering Akamasoa philosophy - one that would symbolize perseverance over adversity. The vibrant label artfully replicates the iconic home structure's rich color palette directly drawn from dwellings built by Akamasoan hands. Digital printing technology allows capturing the full chromatic diversity, each shade representing another triumphant story. Every consumer is reminded that despite immense hardship, the human drive for dignity endures as our most ennobling shared essence.
