Designsake’s characterful packaging design for Helpful Hens eggs
Helpful Hens packaging design tells an upbeat, whimsical story celebrating regenerative farming practices.
Helpful Hens packaging design tells an upbeat, whimsical story celebrating regenerative farming practices.
Regenerative farming is all about boosting the natural ecosystem of the land to improve soil health, through increased biodiversity, encouraging natural topsoil rejuvenation and restoring the earth’s carbon balance. Helpful Hens are a new line of free-range, pasture-raised eggs from Blue Sky Family Farms who use these sustainable practices, and the hens play a key role in the process.
To communicate the vitality created through regenerative practices and of course the crucial role of the hens, Designsake agency’s Helpful Hens packaging tells the story through colourful and lively illustrations. The bold, playful typeface sitting centrally on the carton literally bursts with life, as green grass sprouts from each letter and healthy vines wrap around while bright flowers bloom. Characterful hens stride around the letters just as they would on the farm, aerating and fertilizing the soil and happy bees and insects pollinate the plants.
Variation in colour packaging helps to differentiate between the four egg types, Pasture-raised Organic Eggs reside in a white carton, Free-Range Organic eggs in green, while the Pasture-Raised Non-GMO Eggs sit in a soft peach and Free Range Non-GMO eggs live in in blue.
