Bess and Studio create a packaging design for Elia drawing inspiration from ancient Greece.
Elia
Inspired by the history of the ancient Greeks, Elia, an olive oil cake mix, chooses an innovative design that is minimalistic, drawing inspiration from the naturalness of the region. Founded by Candice Hunsinger, the product comes in three different flavours that are displayed with a delicate typeface. Natural flavours combined with the packaging's visual identity deliver an experience that transports the senses to the Mediterranean.
Bess and Studio
Designed by Beth Knudsen from Bess and Studio, the creative concept delivers minimalism with a monochromatic palette to display the earthy elements of the Greek-inspired product. Choosing simplicity in illustration and typography, in addition to Greek architectural features, stark white packaging and a ceramic silhouette form the key elements of the packaging design.
Although the design portrays simplicity, the design concept draws heavily from the region of origin. The overall visual identity of the packaging speaks of a rich cultural heritage that is architecturally influenced to deliver depth and character in packaging design.
