For the release of Carlsberg’s Brewmaster IPA, the Danish design agency puts a modern spin on the brand’s core design elements with a nod to their original brewery gates.

Having been around for centuries, the Indian Pale Ale is now a popular staple among the beer community, with most brewers releasing their own take on the hoppy Ale. Now, world renowned brewer and household name Carlsberg have released their own Brewmaster IPA, teaming up with design agency EVERLAND to create a modern label design that reflects the product as well as encapsulates the characteristics of the well-known brand.

With this in mind, EVERLAND took inspiration from Carlsberg’s iconic logotype, brand palette and curved entrance to their brewery, combining them to create a contemporary feel that pays homage to the original Carlsberg brewmasters.

Large yellow font adorns the front of the cans, contrasted against the pale green background, creating an eye-catching visual appearance. The choice of colour tones are a modern play on the iconic green and yellow pallet traditionally used for the brand. An arching line completing the letter A is a direct reference to the line underscoring Carlsberg as an integrated part of the logo.

The Brewmaster name appears in the arched formation that reflects the brewery gates, punctuated with the iconic hops flowers that can also be found across the top of the original entrance. Beneath the arch proudly reads “Brewed by Carlsberg” in Danish, featuring the brand’s traditional logo.
