Grove Collaborative is a digital first, certified B Corporation and e-commerce platform for sustainable Home & Personal Care products. Created to help solve the single-use plastic issue prevalent among home essential items, Grove Collaborative’s core aim is to make sustainability not only easy for consumers but fun and desirable with no compromise on performance.
“We want to bring optimism and cheerfulness to the space as a way of encouraging consumers that there are better choices out there that don’t require performance compromise.”
Grove’s five-year mission to move “Beyond Plastic” includes the launch of their personal-care brand Peach, offering a range of plant based, 100% plastic-free bar soaps, made without SLS, SLES, silicones, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, and produced with a meticulous manufacturing process to ensure high-performance that uses very little energy and low-waste.
In the world of results-oriented personal care, consumer perspectives on bar soap alternatives, particularly when it comes to haircare, haven’t always seen them as an exciting, desirable or effective replacement. The Peach brand, however, sets out to change attitudes with their high-performance bars and fun, vibrant packaging and branding.
The lively pastel colour palette becomes a key theme in the visual identity, veering away from more muted organic tones usually associated with soap bars and natural alternatives. The packaging is made from 100% recycled content paper board, which is fully recyclable, and FSC®- certied UV inks that emit zero VOCs and no solvents are used via a UV printing process which is safer for the environment and leaves an almost zero carbon footprint.
Peach’s minimalist layout creates a modern aesthetic while the bright colours, fun typography and optimistic messages adorning the packs and bars shifts the product narrative, from one that is used purely out of ecological necessity to a product that is the more preferable option. Furthermore, each product package is clearly marked with a How2Recycle symbol with instructions on how to properly recycle to curb packaging waste.
Every Peach purchase helps to support Grove Collaborative’s non-profit partner, 5 Gyres Institute, in their shared mission to reduce plastic pollution globally. “We are on a mission to eliminate plastic from consumer’s personal care routine, and we are starting with the shower!”
