Little Rick wished to portray a premium image for their products. Hence, they pushed toward launching a new identity to capture the more sophisticated adult target audience. The direct-to-consumer CBD drinks no longer wanted to blend in, instead, they decided to stand out in brand image just as its product does in the competitive market of CBD drinks. The colours, iconography, and typography bring out the true design of Keith Haring’s art.


With rich inspiration drawn from Keith Haring and the surf and skate culture, NOW Creative Agency delivered an image that was a fusion between art and culture. They contributed not just to the looks of the product but the associated feelings that come with it—premium quality and connectivity.


The tones and layout were decided with much deliberation and with an aim to make Little Rick’s Cans stand out, not just in the competitive market but across social media platforms for innovation in design. The forefront of the design depicts minimalism, allowing viewers to focus solely on the logo. The logo brings out Little Rick in a bold font and the colours deliver the lightheartedness of the product.


NOW understood the assignment, revamping Little Rick to project an image of fusion between the product, the artist, and the design culture. Continuing the minimalistic aesthetics, the logo has the letters ‘L’ and ‘R’ infused together which represents Little Rick. A dot that is added in the centre and the lines portray the multiple benefits of the product.


The head of design at NOW, Marc Donaldson, states, "We wanted the product to feel grown-up, refined, and bold. Something the consumer would be proud to hold and make a statement with. It also needs to be easily recognisable". Indeed, Little Rick and NOW made the bold move of deviating from the norms of wellness and well-being with this CBD product and decided to make a bold statement with its design.
