The launch of Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Two is the second release in Ireland’s oldest ever whiskey collection made up of six variations. Each one is to be released annually from 2020 until 2025, ranging in age from 45 to 50 years old.
Chapter Two of the collection is a 46-year-old single pot still Irish whiskey. Distilled in 1973 in the signature style of Old Midleton and matured under the guardianship of four celebrated Master Distillers with only seventy bottles having been produced.
To depict the exceptional rarity of this Irish whiskey, London based Nude Brand Creation delivers bespoke packaging that is both unique and stays true to the brand’s proud Irish heritage and luxury craftsmanship.
The whiskey is contained within handblown and etched crystal decanter bottles produced by Ireland’s Waterford Crystal with each individually number from one to seventy. The bottles are then encased within a bespoke wooden cabinet made from a combination of reclaimed oak from whiskey vats aged up to 200 years old, ancient Elm and rare Japanese Tamo, and handcrafted by Irish designer John Galvin.
Both bottle design and photography pay homage to the role of water from the Dungourney river in Irish whiskey history, as a power source as well as an essential raw material.
