Entrepreneur Miroslav Zapryanov transforms coffee cups into edible coffee cups in an attempt to tackle plastic waste

Cupffee crafted by entrepreneur Miroslav Zapryanov is on a mission to transform coffee experiences and tackle plastic waste. Inspired by the overflowing trash bins of coffee shops in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Miroslav's solution involves baking cups you can eat. It is made from seven locally sourced ingredients like oat bran and wheat flour.

This vegan, GMO-credible cup stays crispy for 40 minutes, resists leaks for hours, and lets the drink's original flavour shine. This is a bold step towards a greener future. Miroslav aims to align Cupffee with strict European rules on single-use plastic and hopes to inspire big coffee chains to go sustainable. The cups feature a protective paper sleeve for hygiene purposes. While this may not eliminate outer packaging, Cupffee represents a meaningful step toward sustainability, especially considering the staggering six billion disposable cups used annually.

Cupffee has garnered attention and positive feedback since its launch. As they expand their product line and participate in climate change initiatives like COP 28, Cupffee aims to revolutionize consumer habits and make a lasting impact beyond just a caffeine fix. The company's innovative approach presents a tangible solution to the global challenge of reducing plastic waste.
