With our Spirits Collection Category introduced in 2024, we take a look back at winners that inspire great packaging design. From Tequila to Aperitivo, from Australia to Columbia, take a journey through the world of spirit collection designs.
GOLD AWARD 2025 - Spirits Collection (Mixed) Nazionale - Spirito Italiano by Auge Design, Italy
A gold winner from last year, Nazionale - Spirito Italiano by Auge Design is the epitome of celebrating Italian heritage and the authenticity of two iconic spirits, Amaro Nazionale and Limoncello Nazionale.
The concept revolves around traditional Italian bars: a uniquely Italian way of being together, fully expressed around the tables of foosball, timeless icons of these spaces. The bottles are crafted as stylized representations of foosball players, featuring their distinctive colours: red vs. blue, amaro vs. limoncello. The spherical custom cap serves as the head, while the shaped label on the front of the bottle becomes the player’s body. The circular back label represents the ball, and the paper used evokes its typical surface.
A unique design that ensures immediate recognisability and iconicity, the Italian way.
GOLD AWARD 2024 - Spirits Collection (Mixed) - Flecha Azul Tequila by Charmaine Choi, USA
Flecha Azul Tequila’s packaging was design with contrast in mind. Flecha Azul Tequila Añejo Cristalino is aged 18 months in American Oak Barrels. Highlighting the clarity of the liquid we designed a vibrant bottle that graduates from dark blue to clear.
Whereas Flecha Azul Tequila Extra Añejo is aged 36 months in American Oak Barrels. With designers created a more ceramic-looking bottle to reflect the weight of the longer aging process.
SILVER AWARD 2024 - Spirits Collection (Mixed) - Beelu Forest Distilling Co. by Harcus Design, Australia
Beelu Forest Distilling Co. is nestled by Lake Nenia amongst the pristine forests of the Perth Hills, Western Australia where they source their pure artesian water at its origin from the Beelu Forest Valley.
As a small-batch producer, their labels/packaging are the primary means to spark curiosity and encourage sales - doing the heavy lifting in brand storytelling - idealising the concept of ‘saprock filtration', resulting in purity and capturing the essence of their environment.
BRONZE AWARD 2025 - Spirits Collection (Mixed) - Eight Oaks by Makers & Allies, USA
Eight Oaks Farm Distillery’s rebrand centers on packaging design that brings its “grain to glass” story to life. Custom flask-inspired glass honours Pennsylvania’s working-class roots while boldly showcasing the liquid and new branding.
Embossed details, including the founder’s grandfather’s “8” signature, plus a tire tread texture and tiered label system, create a unified yet clearly differentiated portfolio.
SILVER AWARD 2025 - Spirits Collection (Mixed) - Perro Verde Mezcal by S&Co, Colombia
Perro Verde is a Los Angeles–founded mezcal, guided by fifth-generation mezcalero Don Porfirio Chagoya, sourcing rare agaves like Tobalá and Tepeztate. The packaging redefines luxury while remaining faithful to mezcal’s authentic, handcrafted origins: a striking nahual centerpiece, refined yet untamed typography, and design cues which draws inspiration from the phrase “Más raro que un perro verde” “rarer than a green dog,” blending rarity, heritage, and craftsmanship.
