Jamhot make their first foray into the world of custom bottle design, resulting in a striking blue signature piece for island distillery North Uist Distillery Co.
Launched in 2019, North Uist Distillery Co. was the creation of local island duo Jonny Inglewood and Kate MacDonald. Being the first legal distillery for the island, Inglewood and MacDonald’s aim was to build a thriving business on North Uist, South Uist & Benbecula, putting the Scottish island on the map and providing work opportunities for the local community.
To help establish the brand within an already busy market, design studio Jamhot developed a striking new visual identity for the distilleries award winning Downpour Gin range. Collaborating with Italian glass bottle manufacturer Vitro Elite, Jamhot designed a custom-made bottle adorned in a vivid translucent blue colour, evoking the idea of water and rain, complementing the name and distinctive brand pattern design.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the bottle contains 38% less glass than the previous one and is screen printed with organic inks.
