The Visciola is an ancient wild cherry variety native to Central Italy, particularly widespread in the Marche region, from which a sweet and aromatic wine traditionally served after meals is produced. Rooted in a long rural tradition, the visciola has become a deeply symbolic element of Marche’s farming culture, where the harvesting and processing of this fruit have accompanied seasonal rhythms and moments of family conviviality for generations.

The label was designed to convey this cultural heritage through an essential yet evocative visual language. Its surface recalls the traditional wicker basket used during the harvest, reinterpreting its woven texture through a system of perforations that creates depth and a three-dimensional effect. These openings allow a glimpse of the contents inside the package, establishing a dialogue between interior and exterior while transforming the label into a dynamic and tactile element.
Further strengthening the connection with the fruit are the hot-foil printed sour cherries, which emerge on the surface through bright and refined reflections. This detail creates a visual and material contrast between the metallic brilliance of the foil and the natural texture of the paper, enhancing the three-dimensional quality of the label and making the visual and tactile experience more engaging and sophisticated.

The project therefore brings together memory and contemporaneity, translating a simple and everyday gesture of agricultural tradition into a graphic system capable of expressing authenticity, craftsmanship, and a strong connection to the territory. The careful selection of materials, textures, and finishing techniques contributes to building a coherent and recognizable identity, transforming the label into a visual narrative that celebrates not only the wine itself, but also the stories, gestures, and people who continue to preserve this tradition.
