OSKI Gin

OSKI is an authentic first-of-its-kind hand-crafted dry gin with the key ingredient of Armenian thyme and a well-balanced mix of handpicked natural botanicals sourced from the Armenian mountains.

Formascope Agency

Formascope, an independent branding agency, was tasked with crafting a packaging design that portrayed OSKI’s elements and ingredients in label design and visual identity. The Yerevan-based brand agency created a label design of 7 layers to deliver the depth and value of OSKI, which translates to ‘gold’ representing purity.

The 7 Layers of the OSKI’s label design

Handcrafted layer - To represent OSKI’s handcrafted quality, layers of vertically positioned strips of textured paper forms the label as well as reflect the product’s characteristics.

Copper layer - Crafted from genuine copper, the metallic strip represents the copper alembic used during its production.

Mountain layer - The grey strip is a dedication to Armenian-origin gin, representing the source of its botanical ingredients from the Armenian mountains.

Botanical layer - The locally sourced botanical ingredients are creatively embossed on the strip in minimalistic typography, displaying ingredients such as thyme, coriander, and more.

Thyme layer - A dedicated strip is added to emphasize the hero ingredient with a naturally generated green paper signifying the presence of thyme.

Unfiltered layer - Being 100% grain neutral and unfiltered gin, the white strip conveys the product’s rough texture.

OSKI layer - as the final step of gin-making, all the ingredients are brought together, resulting in a pure and clean handcrafted gin that is represented in the last strip.

To maintain the core elements in the design, the labels are individually glued onto the bottles, changing positions, resulting in 5,040 uniquely crafted label designs.
