Each year, Pantone Colour Institute™ experts explore global trends from entertainment to fashion, travel, and social and cultural events, seeking inspiration from the natural and virtual worlds permeating daily life. Through this extensive process, the institution creates a visual language communicating a message that crosses genders, geographies, and generations.

‘In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.’ Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute.

The Colour of the Year for 2024, Peach Fuzz, is warm and comforting. PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz communicates a tactile message through velvety, quilted, and furry textures in a nurturing peach hue. Luxuriously soothing and gentle to the touch, this peach shade arouses our senses with the reassuring embrace of texture and warmth.

Amid the emphasis on productivity and external achievements in a bustling world, it becomes crucial to acknowledge the significance of cultivating one’s inner self and finding moments of respite, creativity, and human connection. Peach Fuzz is a reminder to approach life with greater intentionality and consideration, realigning our focus on health and well-being—both mental and physical. And cherish the special moments, finding warmth and comfort in the company of friends and family, or simply taking a solitary moment for ourselves.

With this perspective, Pantone chooses the Pantone Colour of the Year 2024, which underscores the importance of community and togetherness. The chosen colour aims to convey the human desire to be close to loved ones, revel in the joy of self-discovery, and savour quiet moments alone.

PANTONE x Pentawards

For the first time this year, Pantone and Pentawards have joined forces to recognise excellence in packaging design through the 'Best Use of Colour' category in the 2023 competition. The ‘Best Use of Colour’ Award was presented by Carola Seybold, Head of Global Key Accounts, at the Pentawards Gala 2023. This collaboration was built on Pantone's prior involvement with the Pentawards Trends Report of 2021. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Colour Institute at Pantone LLC, offered insights during this report, delving into the trend titled 'Colour as a Key Visual.'
